We are very pleased to announce that "TATTI, Land of Dreams", a film by Ruedi Gerber, will soon have its debut in Italian and Swiss cinemas this Spring.
A declaration of love from the director towards this magicalMaremma village in southern Tuscany, where he arrived by chance over thirty years ago. A film in which his personal story intertwines with that of an entire community, until it becomes one singular shared life story.
An intimate portrait that becomes a universal story of resilience, showing how a community can be reborn while preserving its traditions and memory as it evolves.
After the successful premieres at the Zurich Film Festival and theFestival dei Popoli in Florence, followed by a preview screening in Follonica that was warmly received by the audience, the film is now preparing to debut in Italian cinemas: the first screening will take place in Florence on April 9th (see the calendar below).
“I arrived in Sequerciani by chance. Here I discovered something I wasn't looking for and that, perhaps, I had always longed for: the unique and profoundly touching, frankness, openness, and warmth of its people.
My friendship with the twin brothers Marco and Massimo, the last farmers in the village, ignited a spark of hope in me: the fields could breathe again, the rows of vines could be reborn like promises, a shop and a restaurant could be filled with aromas and laughter, and ancient spaces could once again welcome friends and travelers.
In conversation with the inhabitants of Tatti and in our shared work, we rediscovered life flowing.

The transformation of a man, the rebirth of a village.
The film also holds a universal message: the power of dreaming together.
Tatti's story is authentic, spontaneous, and doesn't hide the truth. From these sincere beginnings, Ruedi's desire to immerse himself in the community's activities—primarily agriculture—was born, merging ancient traditional knowledge with more innovative visions.
The inhabitants knew the land, the rocks, in every detail; Ruedi brought biodynamics, permaculture, and a more horizontal approach.They brought the machinery, and he brought the new ideas.
Thus, by listening and learning together, a collaboration was born,capable of generating new dreams: the rebuilding of Tatti's economic and community fabric, restoring enthusiasm and the pleasure of being together.
A story of land, hope, and returns. The story of a community.
This film is also a message for the future: while remembering the past, we can build positive change. Human connection and a shared community purpose can revitalize a village and our belief in what is possible.
Production
The film is produced by ZAS Film AG, a Swiss film production company founded by Ruedi Gerber (Breath Made Visible, Living with the Spill, Heartbreak Hospital, Journey in Sensuality) and co-produced by Michael King's Italian production company Perché No Films. The film will be distributed in Italy by Lo Scrittoio-Cinema D’Autore and inSwitzerland by Innovative EYE starting in spring 2026.

Pugnitello ist eine autochthone toskanische Rebsorte, deren Ursprung teilweise im Dunkeln liegt. Seit Jahrhunderten ist sie in den Hügeln der Alta Maremma, des Chianti und in den Provinzen Siena und Grosseto dokumentiert. Der Name leitet sich von ihrer kleinen, kompakten Traube ab, die einer „Faust” (pugno) ähnelt: Die Kompaktheit der Traube, die zur Bildung von Schimmel führen kann, und der geringe Ertrag pro Hektar haben in der Vergangenheit dazu geführt, dass sie aufgegeben wurde.
Seine Wiedergeburt begann in den 80er Jahren, als Dr. Bandinelli auf dem Monte Amiata einige überlebende Rebstöcke entdeckte und damit entscheidend zu seiner Erhaltung beitrug.
In den folgenden Jahren ermöglichten genetische Studien und agronomische Versuche die schrittweise Wiedereinführung in den Anbau. Von grundlegender Bedeutung für diesen Weg war die Arbeit der azienda agricola San Felice, bei Siena. Das progetto vitiarium / coltivatori custodi, das mit dem Ziel ins Leben gerufen wurde, seltene autochthone Rebsorten wiederzugewinnen, die biologische Vielfalt zu erhalten und historischen Sorten ihre Würde zurückzugeben. Sequerciani ist seit 2021 auch Coltivatore Custode und Teil dieser Vision.
Als Ruedi Gerber 2009 beschloss, einen Rebberg anzulegen, hatte er keine Zweifel: Pugnitello war die erste Rebsorte, die er auswählte. Eine bewusste Entscheidung, als Ausdruck des Terroir der Maremma, Symbol der Artenvielfalt und im Einklang mit einer regenerativen und biodynamischen Landwirtschaft.
Diese kompakte Traube, die in feuchten Jahren anfällig für Mehltau ist, findet ihr ideales Gleichgewicht in den lehmig-kalkhaltigen und mineralischen Hügelböden von Sequerciani, wo Lage, gute Belüftung und Temperaturschwankungen die Konzentration und phenolische Reifung begünstigen und Schimmelbefall verhindern.

Dieser Wein wird aus reinsortigen Pugnitellotrauben hergestellt, die spontan mit pflanzeneigenen Hefen vorgegoren und 18-20 Tage lang in Zementtanks mazeriert werden. Die Reifung in Amphoren aus Terrakotta wird zusammen mit der Reifung in französischen Eichenfässern gemischt und dauert etwa zwei Jahre. Nach der Abfüllung ruht der Wein ein weiteres Jahr in Glasflaschen.
Dort präsentiert er sich bereits mit seiner intensiven rubinroten Farbe. Die Tannine sind kräftig und dennoch fei: In der Nase bietet er Noten von Waldfrüchten, Pflaumen und würzigen Nuancen. Am Gaumen ist er strukturiert und harmonisch, mit einer Frische, die die Fülle unterstützt und ausgleicht.
Es ist ein Wein, der das Terroir mit Eleganz und Entschlossenheit widerspiegelt. Perfekt zu herzhaften Gerichten, langsam gegartem Fleisch, gereiftem Pecorino-Käse und würzigen Speisen. Ein Wein, den man auf der Zunge in vollen Zügen geniessen sollte.
Die Arbeit unserer Landwirtschaft wird so zur Kultur.
